Who we are

SolvIRR Limited was founded in January 2016 by David Garland.  It is an Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) registered Chartered Accountancy practice specialising in financial modelling and associated advisory services.

With almost 15 years of experience gained from working for a "Big Four" accountancy firm and a passion for all things Excel, David established SolvIRR Limited in 2016 to pursue this passion and to deliver financial modelling solutions, tools and value for his clients.

Prior to establishing SolvIRR Limited, David was a Director in the Infrastructure Advisory team at EY where he led teams providing financial and commercial advice to clients across the UK, Australia and the Middle East.  He worked on numerous high profile and complex projects which are set out in the experience section of this website.

David's role in leading the following activities as a "Financial Modelling Champion" at EY is of particular relevance to the work he does at SolvIRR Limited:

• Financial modelling development - David led the development of countless financial models on high profile and complex projects.
• Commercial reviews - As part of the risk management process at EY, David also performed independent commercial reviews of financial models before the models and associated reports were released to clients.  These commercial reviews were of critical importance to managing exposure to financial modelling risk.
• Training - David led the financial modelling training of the Infrastructure Advisory teams in the UK and the Middle East.  While in Australia, he supported the financial model training in an advisory capacity and reviewed the training material for those presenting the courses.
